Motorhome caravan I bought.
Registration expired for 4 years.
I worked on its maintenance and renovation, but my son had an accident, so I became completely preoccupied. Thank God he is safe.
However, I no longer have the desire to complete it.
I personally replaced the interior ceiling, created a space for a split AC in the rear, removed and cleaned the two fuel tanks, renewed as much of the car's electrical system as I could, and installed a very strong rear rack.
Modified the generator to be pullable on bearings.
I sandblasted it, removed rust, and painted the underside with black epoxy anti-rust paint.
Installed a new fan from America.
Installed PVC insulating fabric on the roof to prevent water leaks.
Restored the roof by 95%.
6 new large-sized tires costing over 6600 SAR.
Replaced the faulty engine (original engine was 454).
Replaced the transmission.
Same engine and transmission as 80s Suburbans.
I put original radiator fluid in it. Over time, the copper radiator developed a leak, and the water entered the transmission. I cleaned the transmission from water and adjusted it to 75%, but still (I replaced the transmission).
Maintenance costs (body paint, engine replacement, tires, etc.) exceeded 40,000 SAR.
All its parts are available.
It needs a split AC unit.
There is no dashboard AC.
Asking price: 49,000 SAR.
Reason for selling: Lack of time to complete the renovation and current preoccupation with restoration. I also desire a caravan for one or two people, maximum three.
I got lazy to finish the renovation project.
I drove it twice.
Tested it in the desert.
Although it doesn't have 4WD, it's very powerful and light (check tire pressure and go).
It needs completion of interior renovation and interior electrical work.
It needs repairs for the remaining car electrical system, about 30% left.
I personally budgeted an estimated 10-20,000 SAR to complete it (if you want to pamper yourself).
This includes AC and upgrading the generator to a silent one.
For your information, I saw a similar classic 1979 model in Kuwait for 119,000 SAR.
I am available for any details.
