Some information about the French Red Chicken breed:
The French Red chicken breed has many advantages based on experience and raising. We will mention some of them in detail:
1) An authentic meat breed with stable genetic traits in all its generations, unlike some imported hybrid breeds whose traits deteriorate from one generation to the next over time.
2) Cost savings in feed, facilities, and labor.
(Roosters reached a live weight of 1200 grams and hens 900 grams live at 70 days old under floor-raising conditions.
I believe, God willing, if they are provided with the same broiler chicken coops, they will achieve better weights).
They surpass local chickens in cost savings regarding feed and labor by shortening the rearing cycle from 4 months to (60-70) days due to efficient conversion of feed to meat (if proper rearing principles are applied from the start of the brooding period, controlling temperature, humidity, lighting, ventilation, and fresh water, then feeding with starter, grower, and finisher feed, and vitamins).
3) A very productive laying breed.
The French Red chicken breed starts laying light brown eggs from 5 months and three weeks of age.
The egg size is large.
And a rate of 50-60% for the productive flock (under proper rearing conditions, including providing suitable housing for laying hens, laying feed, and vitamins).
4) The dressing percentage of French chickens' meat, based on experience for roosters, is 65-69% after slaughter from live weight, which is close to the percentage of broiler chickens.
5) An adaptable breed with strong immunity.
Based on our experience of over five years,
The French Red chicken breed is considered adapted to the local weather conditions (Jeddah) and has high immunity, comparable to local chicken breeds under floor-raising conditions.
And praise be to Allah, it has given better results in moderate and cold highland areas and in wire cages, where it increased.
