Protecting Waqf begins with documentation

By: Alaa Abu Anas A Waqf may possess a distinguished property, a stable resource, or a diligent supervisor, yet its procedures are hindered due to a lack of documentation or incomplete data. Therefore, the first step in protecting and sustaining a Waqf does not begin with the property itself, but rather with its proper documentation. Today, the Waqf platform has become the main gateway for registering Waqfs and managing their data electronically. However, the success of registration does not depend solely on uploading documents, but begins with collecting data, verifying the integrity of documents, and completing regulatory requirements before submitting the application. From practical experience, most delays in registration applications are not due to the platform itself, but rather due to a lack of information, incomplete documents, or observations that could have been avoided before submitting the application. Furthermore, registering a Waqf is not the end of the journey, but rather the beginning of a phase that requires maintaining and updating the Waqf's data when needed, ensuring its readiness to benefit from electronic services, safeguarding its rights, and facilitating its future management procedures. Documenting a Waqf is not just an administrative procedure, but a foundation for preserving the Waqf, maintaining its rights, and enhancing its sustainability. The more complete and accurate the Waqf's data, the more efficient its management, the smoother its procedures, and the more capable the Waqf's message is of continuing and achieving its impact.
