A rare Abbasid coin, extremely rare, classified as RRRRR, the highest degree of rarity, meaning it is almost impossible to obtain. Struck in Mecca in the year 204 AH.
This is the first year of the mint that struck coins in Mecca during the reign of the Abbasid Caliph Al-Ma'mun ibn Harun al-Rashid and the governor Muhammad ibn al-Afriqi.
A piece from the treasures of Islamic history, unique of its kind, and considered one of the most sought-after pieces by coin collectors. Only a handful of collectors and dealers worldwide possess it. Graded by NGC, USA, as Extremely Fine (XF), meaning the highest degree of fine, very fine, with a note of environmental damage, referring to an external layer of patina and oxides, which can be removed with cleaning. However, the coin was graded with its original dirt, dust, and oxides as found, which is preferable to avoid a "cleaned" note.
In short, a very difficult piece, with a certificate of authenticity.
Sale by auction starting from 6000 Saudi Riyals only.
