Home Ventilator (via Masks Only) The device makes patient care easy and its care plan effective for encouraging long-term use as the DreamStation algorithms automatically adapt to the patient’s needs, helping them adjust to treatment and continue using it. What is the device? The device (also referred to as BiLevel) provides two specified levels of air pressure, a higher pressure for inhalation and a lower pressure for exhalation. BiPAP and BiPAP ST devices are similar in that both are designed to provide the same air pressure, with the difference between BiPAP and BiPAP ST being the breaths per minute feature, referred to as (RR or Backup Rate). The ST device responds to the patient when the patient is not achieving the minimum breaths per minute, which can lead to respiratory issues, such as increased carbon dioxide levels in the blood, among others. This device ensures breathing by prompting the user to breathe again within that minute. Who are the beneficiaries of the device? They are patients suffering from obstructive, mixed, or complex sleep apnea, who require high or fluctuating pressure levels. Patients with central sleep apnea. Hypoventilation associated with sleep or positioning, such as: obesity hypoventilation syndrome, respiratory failure, overlap syndrome, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Supported therapy systems (3 systems): - CPAP. - S mode. - S/T mode. Humidification: Active humidification controlled by the room environment. Heated humidifier. Heated tube (optional). Advantages of the device: Patient-driven design. The sleek, compact, and lightweight DreamStation design makes it easy to place on a bedside table without the need for a dedicated stand. It features easy-to-navigate menus and a front display that can be activated while lying down or sitting in bed. Daily progress notes. Daily progress notes on the BiPAP S/T display the patient’s use at night, helping users track their treatment progress. Automatic airway management. Automatic airway management can dynamically and automatically manage the patient’s upper airway in any ventilation mode. It continuously monitors changes in the upper airway and responds to them with the lowest possible pressure each night, aiming to provide the lowest bi-level pressures to address the patient’s ventilation needs. Digital AutoTrak sensitivity. Adapts to the patient’s breathing events and breathing cycle while compensating for leaks from the mask, adjusting the delivered pressure according to the patient’s natural breathing patterns. Digital AutoTrak adjusts to the patient's breathing and helps eliminate the need for manual adjustments.
