The Pharaohs Curse Novel

The Pharaoh's Curse By: Robin Cook First Edition 2007 AD Pages: 371 pages (Robin Cook), the author of best-selling novels - as confirmed by The New York Times - delves into the secrets of the beautiful Egyptian past to weave a thrilling novel characterized by realism and suspense.. Traveling to Egypt is a dream that (Erica Barron) fulfills. Because she is an Egyptologist, she longs to visit the temples and see the mummies remaining from the ancient Egyptian civilizations. But when a clue falls into her hands that could lead her to an legendary treasure, she is almost overwhelmed by the fear of the curse of the ancient world and the dangers of the modern world that loom.. A fast-paced and captivating novel in its events and well-crafted in its writing. I enjoyed the atmosphere of Egyptian antiquities within its pages.. and its events that take place in the city of Cairo in the seventies of the last century. Erica Barron, an Egyptologist, arrives in Cairo "as a tourist." From Cairo, her exciting adventure begins. In the world of antiquities, where many fight to obtain a part of it, there is corruption, a black market, deep-rooted family secrets, and mysteries that no one dares to fathom or approach and try to solve. Despite my dislike for the idea of the absolute hero, "often American," that hero who arrives and fights all the villains and corrupt people alone and wins in the end.. And that is what happens here in this novel. If we overlook this point, I can say that the novel is very good, and it is also a well-crafted detective work that uses antiquities as a backdrop around which all events revolve.. I recommend it to you, for all lovers of detective literature and enthusiasts of antiquities and history. You will enjoy reading this novel
