An archaeological manuscript of the Holy Quran from the 16th century AD. A single decorated page from a Safavid Persian Quran dating back to the 16th century AD. The page features a golden frame, and blue decorations, unusually ornate, separate the edges of the page, cutting through four-fifths of it. This manuscript contains the last verses of Surah Muhammad (Surah 47) from the Madani Quran, and it also contains the beginning of Surah Al-Fath (Surah 48) from the Madani Quran. The manuscript is written in black Naskh script, with simple but vibrant golden verse markers. A large, decorated, and gilded margin indicates the fifth section of the Surah. The manuscript is surrounded by several framing lines, including a solid gold frame. The manuscript is in good condition for its age, with some minor wear in places, which is only noticeable when the manuscript is exposed to light.
