Distinctive old currency for sale. Historical Austrian Banknote: 1. Technical Specifications of the Currency Denomination: 20 Austrian Shilling (Zwanzig Schilling). Issue Date: July 2, 1967. Dimensions: The banknote measures 132 x 65 mm. Material: Printed on paper. Predominant Color: Brown. Watermark: Consists of repeating circular patterns. 2. Artistic Design (Front and Back) Front (Obverse): Clearly features a portrait of engineer and nobleman Carl Ritter von Ghega (1802–1860). At the bottom is the "Austrian Coat of Arms" (the eagle). The background includes a glimpse of the "Kalte Rinne viaduct" of the Semmering railway. Back (Reverse): Displays a landscape of the Eastern Limestone Alps with the Semmering railway bridge, a massive engineering work designed by "Ghega" and a UNESCO World Heritage site. 3. Monetary History Period: It was part of the "Second Schilling" used by Austria between 1945 and 2001 before transitioning to the Euro.
