Product Description:
The goal of using a flash glucose monitoring system reader (referred to as the reader with the Freestyle Libre 2 system, or the Freestyle Libre 2 flash glucose monitoring system sensor, is to measure glucose levels in the interstitial fluid of people (aged 4 and older) with diabetes, including pregnant women.
The reader and sensor are designed to replace blood glucose testing in the self-management of diabetes, including insulin dosing.
Indications for use for children (aged 4 to 12 years) are limited to those supervised by a caregiver aged at least 18 years.
The caregiver is responsible for supervising the child or assisting them in using the reader and sensor, as well as interpreting the glucose readings displayed by the sensor for the child or assisting them in interpreting them.
The Freestyle Libre 2 flash glucose monitoring system (referred to as the "System") consists of two parts: a handheld reader and a disposable sensor that you wear on your body.
You use the reader to wirelessly scan the sensor and view your glucose readings.
The reader works only with Freestyle Libre 2 sensors and cannot be used with other sensors. The Freestyle Libre 2 sensor communicates automatically with the reader, and can provide you with alerts about your glucose level if you choose to enable them. The reader also includes a built-in meter for blood glucose testing and ketone testing.
IMPORTANT: System safety information is in this user manual. Read all information in the user manual and instructions for use for blood glucose test strips and ketone test strips before using the system.
The system comes as a reader kit and a sensor pack. When opening the packages, ensure the contents are not damaged and all listed parts are present. If any parts are missing or damaged, contact customer service.
