Cryptorchidism:
Cryptorchidism occurs when one or both testicles do not descend into the scrotum. If only one testicle is undescended and the other is present in the scrotum, it is called unilateral cryptorchidism. The undescended testicle is usually located in the inguinal canal or abdominal cavity.
Important points in cats:
It is a congenital condition (present at birth).
Affected cats should not be used for breeding.
Undescended testicles are more prone to tumors and torsion.
Neutering (removal of the testicles) is the recommended treatment.
