An ancient manuscript from the Holy Quran from the 17th century. The manuscript consists of two leaves (4 pages) of a Persian/Mughal (Safavid) Quranic manuscript, circa 1600-1650 AD. The manuscript is written in Naskh script. This manuscript exhibits all the characteristics of late Safavid (Isfahan) or Mughal (Lahore/Delhi) manuscripts of the 17th century. The paper texture is rough, like velvet cloth. The ink color is black and red with gold decorations on the verses and gold edges with black lines. The manuscript was rescued from a fire and bears original heat damage, with the edges being brown due to heat. There is discoloration and soot. The ink is sometimes raised. The pages are well-preserved. Despite the damage, the vast majority of the text remains legible, and the Quran retains its high historical and artistic value. Dimensions: 21.5 cm x 15 cm.
