A distinctive Japanese vintage piece from the late eighties and early nineties, from a period when Seiko sought to prove that quartz watches were not just accurate and practical, but also elegant and luxurious pieces capable of competing with Swiss watches in design, slimness, and quality of execution.
This watch came out of the famous Suwa factory in Japan as part of the classic Presage collection, and it carries design details that are unusual even today. Most notably, the word PRESAGE is engraved directly on the gold-plated bezel instead of being placed on the dial in the traditional way, giving the watch a special identity and a different presence from most watches of that era.
The clean ivory dial was carefully designed to maintain visual symmetry, so the circular date window is at six o'clock instead of its usual position at three o'clock, giving the watch a striking balance and elegance when viewed.
It operates with the Japanese Seiko Quartz 5E31 movement and comes with its original two-tone bracelet.
