Job Title: Barista
General Job Objective:
Responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience by preparing and serving hot and cold beverages (especially specialty coffee) with high quality and according to approved standards, while ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and a clean and inviting environment within the cafe.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Beverage Preparation: Precisely and professionally prepare various types of coffee (Espresso, Latte, Cappuccino, V60/Chemex pour-over) and cold beverages.
Customer Service: Greet customers with a smile, assist them in choosing beverages, and answer their inquiries about menu ingredients and preparation methods.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Properly handle espresso machines, grinders, and brewing tools, and perform regular cleaning and daily maintenance to ensure extraction quality.
Latte Art: Master milk steaming skills and latte art to present beverages attractively and distinctively.
Point of Sale (Cashier) Operation: Take orders, accurately operate the cash register system, process cash and electronic payments, and issue invoices.
Maintain Cleanliness: Fully adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, and maintain the cleanliness of the work area (bar), tables, and tools used throughout the shift.
Inventory Management: Monitor the availability of raw materials (coffee beans, milk, juices, cups) and inform the supervisor of low stock before it runs out.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Work Experience: Previous experience as a barista in a cafe (preferably in specialty coffee).
Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of coffee types, grind sizes, extraction ratios, and handling cafe equipment.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication skills and politeness in dealing with the public.
Ability to work under pressure and during peak hours.
Speed, activity, and attention to detail.
Teamwork: Ability to harmonize and cooperate with the work team (supervisors and colleagues).
Flexibility: Willingness to work variable shifts (morning/evening) and during weekends.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
The job requires standing for long periods during the shift.
Continuous movement and the ability to lift light to medium loads (e.g., milk cartons or coffee bags).
