Most restaurant owners lose money because they treat their restaurant like their father... not like their child.
Your father, you are used to taking and giving from him, but your child, you spend on him, learn with him, and are patient with him so that he grows and becomes valuable and brings you back goodness.
And this is the same thing you should do with your restaurant:
1- Be patient with it in the beginning. The first few months are not the time to judge the project as a failure. This is a period to learn the market, know your customer, and correct your mistakes. Whoever rushes to close... loses.
2- Invest in its continuous development. Just as you spend on your child's education, spend on training employees, improving quality, marketing, and developing the menu. Development is not a luxury... it is the reason for continuity.
3- Listen to it when it complains. If sales drop or customers complain, don't get upset with the restaurant. Understand what it is telling you. Every problem has a cause, and if you know the cause, you will know the solution.
4- Think about its long-term future. Don't look for profit this month only. You want to see your child succeed after 20 years, and your restaurant also needs to build a reputation and gain customer trust so that it continues to bring you income for years.
5- Don't withdraw all its earnings.
Just as you cannot ask your child to support you while he is still at the beginning of his life, you cannot withdraw all the restaurant's profits from the beginning. Leave a portion to return to the project for maintenance, marketing, equipment development, and quality improvement so that it can grow and stand on its own feet.
