A very special Abbasid coin set from the same Hijri year: a gold dinar, a silver dirham, and a bronze fils. This set is distinguished by the presence of Islamic symbols like the crescent moon, which were specifically placed on the occasion of the expansion of the Grand Mosque in Mecca by the Abbasid Caliph Muhammad al-Mahdi, son of Abu Ja'far al-Mansur, and father of Caliph Harun al-Rashid. This occasion was in the year 167 AH only, and the crescent moon symbol was placed on the circulating coins and not on those from previous or subsequent years in the Abbasid era during the first and second Islamic centuries. This gives it rarity and a connection to an Islamic historical event. A very beautiful piece, excellent cleanliness for the entire set. The sale is by auction starting from only 4500 Riyals.
