This book is considered one of the smartest satirical literary works of the Romantic era in the 19th century. Its idea revolves around the term "bachelor's wife," which is metaphorically intended to mean (the ideal and perfect woman who exists only in the imagination of a bachelor). The story is told through a fictional character created by the author, a retired Scottish man named "Thomas Duffle." This man worked in the textile trade in the city of Glasgow. After his retirement, he felt bored, so he decided to go on exploratory and experimental sea voyages aboard the new invention of that era: "the steam boat." The book contains 359 fully numbered pages for the novel in English. The pages are complete and in excellent condition considering their age of over 204 years.
