In the picturesque town of Positano, a luxurious five-star hotel bears the name of these islands, founded in 1951 in an 18th-century palace by the Neapolitan Cinque family. To celebrate the hotel's 50th anniversary, Marina Cinque (a documentary filmmaker and film producer), daughter of the family, and her partner Sebastian Alvarez Moreno (a journalist and entrepreneur), with the support of perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour, developed a special fragrance for the hotel: "Eau d'Italie", launched in 2004. The aim was to honor Le Sirenuse hotel by embodying the scents of the Amalfi Coast in an authentic Italian Mediterranean fragrance. The idea of creating a perfume house in the style of historic hotels and launching exclusive luxury fragrances was a great success. After the great success of the first fragrance, a second fragrance, "B Bestum Rose", was launched two years later. Since then, other fragrances have appeared, now bearing the name of the first fragrance ("Eau d'Italie") as the brand name.
