Home water purification filter with RO reverse osmosis system - Hadeer brand - Made in Taiwan.
This is one of the most common types of filters in Saudi Arabia, and here is its detail:
1. Specifications shown in the picture
This is a classic 5-stage model with a pump and a tank (the tank is not shown in the picture but comes with it):
• Stage 1 - PP Sediment 5 micron: The transparent filter on the right. Removes large impurities, sand, rust, and mud.
• Stage 2 - Loose Carbon Granular: The middle filter. Granular activated carbon removes chlorine, gases, taste, and odor.
• Stage 3 - Carbon Block: The left filter. Compressed carbon block to ensure removal of chlorine, organic matter, and protect the membrane.
• Stage 4 - RO Membrane: The white cylinder behind the filters. This is the heart of the device, the reverse osmosis membrane with pores of 0.0001 micron, removes 96-99% of salts, heavy metals, and bacteria.
• Stages 5 and 6 shown above:
◦ Blue: Post Carbon filter to improve the final taste.
◦ Yellow: In Hadeer models, it's a mineral/Alkaline filter that adds beneficial minerals and adjusts the pH.
And there are additions clearly visible in the picture:
• Pressure Gauge on the left to monitor water pressure and pump operation.
• Booster Pump to strengthen the pressure if the house pressure is weak, which is necessary for the RO system.
• ISO 9001, NSF, and Water Quality certificates written on the device.
Its production capacity is usually 75 to 100 gallons per day (about 280 - 380 liters/day) and it comes with a 12-liter tank.
2. Benefits for you
Health-wise:
• Removes excess chlorine that causes dryness and allergies.
• Removes high salts (salinity), nitrates, lead, arsenic, and pesticide residues.
• Protects the kidneys and significantly improves the taste of tea, coffee, and food.
• Prevents the formation of scale and deposits in kettles and dishes.
Economically:
• Stop buying bottled water, the cost is much lower in the long run.
• Protects the water heater and washing machine from calcification.
3. Points you need to know before buying
• This type wastes water: for every 1 liter of pure water, 2-3 liters are discharged into the sewer, which is normal for RO.
• Requires changing filters 1-2-3 every 3-6 months, the membrane every 18-24 months, and the post-carbon every year.
• If your home water is government-treated and already has low salinity, you can suffice with a 3-stage filter without RO. RO is excellent if your water is from a well or has high salinity.
