By: Alaa Abu Anas Sometimes, God writes for a person a beginning that comes to them in a place they love, in a field they chose, and at a time when they feel that all previous steps were paving the way for what is to come. And so I welcome my new days in Mecca Al-Mukarramah after Al-Awali became my place of residence and work, to start a new phase from Mecca, carrying with me what I have learned in past years and receiving from it the goodness, opportunities, and beautiful encounters that God decrees. This beginning is made even more valuable to me by the honor of joining Rakaaz Company for the Management and Development of Endowments, to continue with them in a field with which I have been associated for years through interest, experience, and work. I look forward to this phase being a more beautiful continuation of what came before and a beginning for something greater, God willing. Mecca, for me, is not just a new address for living and working, but a new space for meeting and renewing connections with loved ones, friends, and colleagues with whom distances had made meeting postponed. Therefore, I am happy with everyone I meet in Mecca, whether from the endowments sector, the non-profit sector, friends, loved ones, or those who know me through work or through what I write here on Haraj. After many years in Riyadh, a beautiful chapter closes with all the memories, relationships, and experiences it carried. Today, the chapter of Mecca opens from the Al-Awali district with Rakaaz Company, with a heart grateful for the past and optimistic about the future. And the most beautiful thing about new beginnings is that they do not tell us in advance whom we will meet, through which door of goodness we will enter, or what beautiful impact a chance encounter on the road will leave.
