Structural Design Engineer Required
Structural Design Engineer | Revit • RC • Steel • Precast
Location: Jeddah – Full-time (On-site).
Experience: +8 years within Saudi Arabia (Mandatory).
Salary: 7,000 SAR + Housing and Transportation provided.
Core Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, and a valid professional registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
* Experience in designing residential, commercial, and mixed-use buildings, preferably in consultancy offices.
* Proficiency in Arabic and English technical references.
* Mandatory Software: Revit Structure, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, AutoCAD.
* Preferred: Tekla Structures & Navisworks.
01 | Mandatory Technical Skills
All five disciplines are required without exception:
1. Reinforced Concrete (RC):
Analysis and design of Columns, Beams, Shear/Core Walls; Solid, Flat, Ribbed & Waffle Slabs systems; Isolated, Combined, Raft & Piles foundations and Retaining Walls, with Reinforcement Details & BBS.
2. Structural Steel:
Design of Frames, Beams, Columns, Trusses & Bracing; Capacity, Buckling, LTB, Deflection & Stability checks; and design of Bolted/Welded Connections, Base Plates & Anchor Bolts and execution details.
3. Precast Concrete:
Design of Beams, Columns, Walls & Slabs; Connections, Bearings, Embedded Plates & Anchorage; Lifting, transportation, erection, temporary stability, and bracing checks, coordination with Cast-in-Situ & Steel, and review of manufacturing and erection drawings.
4. Structural Analysis:
Dead, Live, Wind & Seismic Loads, and load combinations; Linear/P-Delta Analysis; Punching Shear, Crack Control, Deflection, Drift & Stability checks, and preparation of structural calculations and reports.
5. Revit Structure & BIM – Essential Requirement:
Receiving the architectural model and independently executing the design cycle; Physical & Analytical Models, Families, Reinforcement, Connections & Detailing; Coordination with Architectural/MEP, and Clash Detection; Issuing Design/IFC Drawings, Schedules, Quantity Takeoff & BOQ; Reviewing Shop/As-Built Drawings and integration with analysis software.
Codes: SBC 301, 303, 304, 306, 312; ACI 318, ASCE 7, AISC 360, AISC 341 (where applicable) and PCI Design Handbook, according to project-approved versions.
02 | Supervision and Consultancy
* Supervision of RC, Steel & Precast, inspection of reinforcement and formwork, and application of QA/QC.
* Review of Calculations, Shop Drawings, RFIs, Material Submittals & Method Statements.
* Resolving conflicts, assessment of existing structures, and Rehabilitation & Retrofitting works.
* Monitoring time, cost, and risks, preparing BOQ, specifications, and Value Engineering.
* Coordination with clients, contractors, and consultants, business development, and project acquisition.
03 | Technical Evaluation – Mandatory
Practical test including:
1. Receiving the Architectural Revit Model, creating the structural model, and issuing drawings.
2. Analysis and calculations using ETABS/SAFE/SAP2000.
3. Design of RC, Steel, and Precast with their elements, details, and connections.
4. Application of SBC and submission of technically reviewable calculations and designs.
Note: Experience in drafting, BIM Modeling, supervision, or project management will not be accepted as a substitute for actual structural design and analysis proficiency.
