Key specifications and information:
• Brand: Philips
• Device type: Classic home radio (supports FM / AM waves and likely has an additional input such as a Phono input)
• Release period: 1960s to 1970s
• Approximate dimensions: about 14.5 cm × 41 cm × 17 cm and weighing approximately 2.5 kg
This is a detailed description of the antique radio shown in the picture:
Design and external structure
• Radio casing: It has a rectangular box-shaped casing in an ivory color (off-white) made of hard plastic or phenolic material (light Bakelite) common in that era.
• Front panel: The front panel is symmetrically divided into two main parts:
• Left side: Contains the sound absorbing grille (internal speaker) in black with a thin silver strip extending below it bearing the Philips logo and brand name.
• Right side: Contains a wide transparent glass panel displaying the frequency and radio wave indicators (Dial scale) with an orange/red station selection indicator integrated into it.
• Controls: In the bottom right corner, there are circular knobs (rotary buttons) made of metal or covered with a silver chrome layer for controlling volume and tuning stations, alongside small rectangular switches for selecting the wave band.
Physical condition and additional components
• Power cord: The original electrical connection cord is visible, extending from the back in an ivory color matching the outer casing.
• Standing legs: The radio rests on small plastic legs integrated into the base to slightly raise it from the surface it's placed on and protect the casing.
