Praise be to God, the door has been opened for individuals to reclaim the Value Added Tax (15%) they paid when selling their real estate during the period from January 1, 2018, to October 4, 2020, subject to specific conditions.
Key Conditions:
- The seller must be an individual, not an entity engaged in commercial real estate business.
- The seller must not have executed more than one real estate supply within 12 consecutive months exceeding the mandatory registration threshold.
- The seller must not have deducted input tax related to the property.
When and How?
- Submitting refund claims through the 'Hayat' platform begins within 30 days of the procedures being published on October 13, 2026.
Summary: If you sold a property during that period and paid VAT, you may be eligible for a refund. However, the refund is not automatic; it requires proving eligibility and filing a claim.
Note: After completing the service, the client must pay the website fees and will be notified accordingly as per the settlement agreement.
