Usage
Feed for livestock: sheep, cows, camels, horses, green or dried. Dried is preferred for livestock. It is also used for decoration, greenery, cooling for the garden, around fences, and as natural barriers and screens.
Features
1. Helps save on feed expenses, especially with current price increases.
2. High protein, nourishes and fattens livestock. It is preferable to give it to livestock dried.
3. A plant that tolerates high heat and salinity, loves bright sun, and can withstand drought.
4. Very, very fast growth after the seedling is established in the ground.
5. Harvested approximately every 25-30 days, totaling 12-15 harvests per year depending on irrigation, sun, fertilization, soil, etc.
6. Reaches a height of 2 or 3 meters if the plant grows to its full potential.
A simple calculation for livestock owners
How much area do you need to plant to feed 10 sheep for a month?
Planting an area of 200 square meters can accommodate 400 seedlings with 50 cm spacing between seedlings. Spacing can be increased to 40 or 30 cm as desired.
This area produces approximately 150-200 bundles per harvest every 25-30 days.
Consumption for 10 sheep is approximately 5 bundles per day, which should be sufficient for about 30 days, with some left over, God willing.
Pannicum, whether green or dried, can be a substitute for livestock for alfalfa, Rhodes grass, or other fodder like grains, pellets (Wafi, Arasco), dates, bread, millet, bran, and others.
